How to Wash Your Work Clothes
Washing your work clothes helps keep them smelling fresh and looking clean. Depending on your fabric type, you can machine wash them or use your hand washing method.
New company uniforms need to be washed separately from your everyday clothes, to remove all the chemicals and dust that has clung to them. This is important for health & safety reasons.
Fels-Naptha
Fels Naptha is a soap that was once used in the depression and world war 2 for many different purposes. It can be grated and added to a laundry detergent for extra stain removal or used as a pre-treater for oily stains and rings around the collar.
Chocolate stains are one of the most difficult stains to remove from clothing and this is another way a bar of Fels Naptha can help. Simply rub the fabric with a wet bar of soap and let it sit for 30 minutes before washing. This will save your clothes and can be much cheaper than buying a stain remover stick. 작업복세탁
Fels Naptha can also be used to clean shoes and other leather items in your house. Just place a piece of the soap in an area where rodents are known to congregate and it will quickly repel them. It can also be used to wash makeup brushes and can even cure cold sores.
Baking Soda
Baking soda is one of the most versatile laundry products on the market. It deodorizes, brightens, and can even remove some stains. It also regulates the pH balance of water and eliminates mineral and detergent residue. It can be used in place of fabric softeners to keep clothes softer.
Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stain, then rub it gently. It can be used on wet or dry blood stains. It can also be used on coffee, tea, and smoke stains.
For a large load of laundry, add 1/2 cup of baking soda when the machine is filling. This will help your detergent work better by removing odors and making it easier to rinse out the soap scum.
This can be especially effective on musty smelling clothes which are normally caused by mold spores. It can also be added to a small load of laundry to deodorize delicate fabrics like silk and satin.
Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is a colorless liquid that can be used to whiten and brighten your clothes without the use of chlorine bleach. It is also known to remove germs and bacteria from the fabric. It is typically sold to consumers in a 3 or 6% solution.
While 3% hydrogen peroxide can be used to wash your clothes it is generally not recommended. Higher concentrations of this product may cause the fabric to break down and produce peracetic acid which is a chemical similar to vinegar that can irritate the skin, eyes, nose, throat, and lungs.
Using a 5% solution of hydrogen peroxide can be an effective way to treat smelly towels or stinky athletic clothing. Just add a cup of the solution to your washer and allow it to soak for 15-30 minutes. Then, wash it with your usual detergent as instructed.
This is a great alternative to using commercial bleach that contains sodium hypochlorite which can cause damage to your clothes and the environment.
Detergent
Work clothes often face a variety of stains and odors. Choosing the right laundry detergent is important to remove all of them and ensure your clothes stay fresh and clean.
A detergent is a surface-active agent that helps water penetrate the fabric and break down grease and dirt. It works by releasing molecules that attract and surround grease particles, so they can be washed away with the water [source].
Powder detergent is a smart choice for extra dirty loads, says Mary Gagliardi, Clorox’s in-house scientist and cleaning expert. “Powder detergent has a higher pH, which optimizes cleaning for heavily-soiled loads,” she says.
If your work clothes are particularly soiled, pretreat the stains with a product such as Fels-Naptha or spray a solution of equal parts hydrogen peroxide and window cleaner on the stained area before washing them.
This method is especially helpful for grease and oil stains or blood stains. Afterward, scrub the stain with a brush or sponge and rinse them before soaking. 세탁업체
